Getting Started
Svalog installs on a single Windows PC and runs quietly in the background — your whole team uses it from a browser, with nothing to install on their devices. This guide takes you from first launch through the five-step setup wizard to logging in for the first time.
First-Time Setup
When you open Svalog for the first time, a setup wizard walks you through five steps:
- Step 1 — Company Info: Enter your company name and choose your language (English or Slovenian).
- Step 2 — Contact Details: Add your company address, contact email and phone — these appear on your documents.
- Step 3 — Business Defaults: Set currency, date format, number format, default tax rate, and default payment terms.
- Step 4 — Modules: Choose which modules to enable for your business. Paid and additional modules are available from the Marketplace after setup.
- Step 5 — Admin Account: Create the first administrator with full name, email address, and password.
After completing setup, you land on the login page. Log in with the admin credentials you just created.
Network Access
Svalog runs as a server on one Windows PC and is accessed from a browser by all users on the same local network.
The server PC runs Svalog in the Windows system tray. Other users on the same local network open a browser and go to http://<server-ip>:8000. No installation is needed on their machines.
Global Search
Press Ctrl+K (or click the search icon in the top bar) to open the global search palette. It searches across all entity types at once:
- Products, Customers, Suppliers
- Quotes, Sales Orders, Delivery Notes, Invoices, Credit Notes
- Purchase Orders, Bills of Materials, Production Orders
Searching by a product name or SKU returns not only the product itself but also every document that contains that product as a line item — useful for finding all orders for a specific part.
- Navigate results with the ↑/↓ arrow keys.
- Press Enter or click a result to open it.
- Press Escape to close the palette.
List Page Features
All list pages (Products, Customers, Quotes, Sales Orders, Invoices, etc.) share the following features:
- Sortable columns — Click any column header to sort ascending. Click again to sort descending.
- Filters and search — Use the search box and filter dropdowns to narrow the results before exporting.
- Export CSV — Downloads the current filtered and sorted view as a UTF-8 CSV file. Open directly in Excel.
